She was a founding member of the “FAILE” collective working alongside BAST, Banksy, Ben Eine and Shepard Fairey until forging a solo career in 2006. Lady Aiko fuses collage, stenciling, brushwork, spray paint, and serigraphy, mashing-up Japanese traditional aesthetic and American pop culture, she also draws inspiration from the street, Kawaii culture (kawaii engl.: cute), and worldwide accepted representations of female sexuality. Her works playfully portray femininity, sexuality and the beauty of human life and are rather positive.
