Size of the Street Art
There is a wall about 4.5 meters high and 800 meters long. The Kamigori Street Art Project is planning to have street art painted on the wall there. The Kamigori Street Art Project is planning to ask about 8 artists from Japan and overseas to do a permanent collection area on the theme of rubbish. The Kamigori Street Art Project is planning to use 100m of the wall there. The remaining 700 meters will be used for the temporary collection area, and if each piece of art is 8 meters long, Kamigori Street Art Project will have 87 pieces of art on the wall.

1. Semi Permanent Collection Area
Street art that has been created using rubbish will be semi permanently displayed in this area unlike the Temporary Collection Area. Street art is an effective and efficient way to raise people's awareness of issues by incorporating political and social themes, with artists renewing their pieces every year or two or having new artists display their work because art would be outside, which means that it would be need to be renewed if the work is damaged. This work will be commissioned. The street art using rubbish will tell the public about the problems Kamigori is currently facing with the construction of a final disposal site for industrial waste and also tell the history of why we decided to exhibit street art in Kamigori.
2. Temporary Collection Area
Currently, there are only a few walls in Japan where street artists can legally hang their work. Therefore, the Kamigori Street Art Project will create a wall for street artists to work on legally in Kamigori. The artists will visit Kamigori themselves and create street art. Also, this area allows artists to paint over other artists’ street art, so each time a new piece is created, another disappears. This means viewers can always enjoy different street art on every visit.
Artists are welcome to visit future Kamigori Street art events and paint art on the walls.
